Large windows, glittering mosaics, reflective materials – the whole interior of this church revolves around light. Built between 1893 and 1906, the church's architect Joseph Cuypers was inspired by the special quality of Dutch light. Sunlight plays an essential part in his design, which manipulates the incoming light, reflections and shadows. If the sun is shining, you'll see the colours of the windows projected onto the walls and columns.
