You imagine yourself in another country when a dome in the Katwijk dunes suddenly appears. Hidden behind a dune is the Universel, a temple with an onion-shaped roof. The Universel Temple was designed by architect Samuel van Embden. He chose to make the building of concrete, yet it feels very warm inside. Light streams through numerous small openings in the wall and the translucent dome casts an amber glow. Around the Universel runs a path through the dunes, ending at the spot where Hazrat Inayat Khan had a special spiritual experience.
